dragonboatevents.ch GmbH was founded in 2000. Daniel Schmid and Felix Meier are dragon boating professionals who have gained experience over many years by participating in major events such as the European and World Championships.
dragonboatevents.ch achieved its first major coup in 2001, with a race for Swissair management in Montreux. Today, dragonboatevents.ch counts a considerable number of well-known companies among its clients.
In addition, dragonboatevents.ch has made a name for itself as the organiser of large-scale events, including the dragon boat race in Eglisau and the dragon boat race held during the Zürifäscht.
2007 and 2008 the young entrepreneurs set a further milestone: they were launching the Dragon Boat Cup – a series of national races for both Fun and Elite Teams from all over Switzerland. Races were held in Eglisau, Zürich, Rorschach and Biel. With more than 100 participating teams which means more than 2000 participants a new dimension in dragon boat racing in Switzerland was set.
Since 2009 dragonboatevents.ch is responsible for the dragon boat racing part of the “paddle for cancer dragon boat festival”. It is a marvellous festival with a cancer awareness and fundraising campaign by ESCA, the English speaking cancer association. dragonboatevents.ch counts itself lucky to be part of it and to support the ESCA team with its knowledge!
